Night Visits

Hello My Quinn,

Another week has come and gone. This week you have been coming into our room late at night around 1 or 2AM and want to sleep the rest of the night with us. This would be fine, except you seem to find a way to take over the entire bed!  Despite this, I still have been allowing you to stay. You see, up until just the last few months, I could NEVER get you to sleep with me. Not even as an infant, not even when it would have made things SO much easier. You were never one to sleep with us. I am not sure what happened, unless you have now started having nightmares that are scaring you. I think it is around this age that nightmares start.  Whatever the case may be, you have come to sleep with me every night this week.

One night was particularly amusing, though at the moment when I was trying to sleep and had to be up in 2 hours, I didn't think so!  You came to bed and I told you to go to sleep. You then kept singing BINGO and even going through the whole verses where you clap your hands on certain letters instead of saying the letter!  I didn't even know you knew the whole song by heart until then!  I was pretty impressed with your 2.5 year old self. Another sweet thing is that you will come to bed and then you will stroke my fact and say "I love you Mama" over and over again. I love it but sometimes I need to sleep! I treasure these memories because I know they are fleeting. I love your sweetness. One thing I have noticed though is on the nights you get to sleep with us, you are not as clingy when I drop you off at daycare the next morning. I am certain there is a correlation there!

Daddy and I were also talking about the fact that we need to start writing down phrases and things you say before we forget and you no longer say them. One we remembered this week was how you used to say "I am going to hit you in the Boing!" and then you would come pat our butts! Too funny. You no longer say that just like you no longer call Popsicles "Chut-Bai's" anymore. You are speaking so well these days that you have even semi-grasped the QU sound in your name. You used to always call yourself TIM because you would use the "t" sound in place of the "qu" sound since you could not yet say it. Every day you say your name a little more clearly. Not a whole lot else has been going on this week except that I am very stressed about my Microbiology class. I am not doing well in it and it is the last class I need to apply to nursing school. I can't let this be the roadblock to applying to nursing school. I suppose all will work out in the end, but sometimes when you are in the thick of it, it doesn't seem that way.

This Saturday we have a birthday party to go to for a little girl named Mia in your class at the Jump Zone....you love it there. It is a gymnastics place with a huge slide and lots of obstacles to climb on and through. Then on Sunday we are hoping to take you to the Fair to see the animals. I am looking forward to a nice weekend, even though I will have to study during your naps and after you go to bed. I am doing it for you, that is my motivation, so that I can better provide for you!

XOXOXOXO
~Mama~
