Cloth Diapering

We have decided that Baby Boy C will be cloth diapered....I know what you are thinking...that is TOO Much work, especially while nursing and being a working mom! Well, you may be right, but the world of cloth diapering has come a LONG way since the diaper pins and burp cloth diapers that we were in! I found out about these great new age cloth diapers from my friend Nili who uses them and swears by them. We are buying 2 different brands, as suggested, some from Bum Genius http://www.bumgenius.com/ and some from FuzziBunz http://www.fuzzibunzonline.com/FuzziBunz-One-Size-Shop-N-Go-Pak_p_96.html# These new style cloth diapers make CDing almost as easy as disposables...so I am told anyway. Erik and I are all about being environmentally friendly and this option just made sense to us. We may have to use disposables until he is big enough to fit into the first stage of these 3 sizes in 1 diapers, but after that it is cloth diapers all the way...at least I hope so. I just wanted to let you all know that we are planning on doing this so that you don't go buying us disposables and also, Cloth diapering has special needs....such as special diaper rash cream... you cannot use regular diaper rash cream on them or they lose their absorbency. Instead you have to use a pure zinc oxide...also, these diapers have to be washed in special detergent that I will be ordering online also do to absorption issues if you do not use the right kind of detergent. I just wanted to keep you all informed on what we are doing. I have also started a registry at Babies R Us and Target. I will post another blog soon giving you the details on that, when I find out from Mom and Val when they are throwing my shower.
