Ms. Samantha loved her valentines gift, but unfortunately some of your classmates decided to rip off the ABC's that were on the wreath. I got her another sheet of letters and hopefully she will re glue them onto the wreath. If not, oh well. I guess we tried!
You have been speaking in leaps in bounds over this past month. I am amazed at how much information you retain. You will just start singing "happy birthday" or the ABC's out of the blue, or will count. Not always in order, but that is not what counts. :) I melt every time you say "Thank-You Mama!" whenever I do something for you like, bring you food, help you put your shoes on, give you something to wipe your hands, or help you off of the potty. You are so sweet and polite. It makes me feel SO proud. I can now ask you what letter comes next and you will answer with the correct one most of the time. I also can ask you what will happen next in a story we have read over and over and you can tell me in a few words. It truly amazes me. You have also started using pronouns and say "me too" a lot when I say something, like "I see a birdie over there." and you will answer: "Me Too!"
Daddy taught you how to pull your own pants up and down and now you love to do that for yourself. You also insist on washing your own hands, brushing your own teeth and brushing your own hair. You are becoming so independent. The only think I don't like about it, is that you do not like to cuddle as much as you used to. But I sneak in my hugs, kisses and squeezes every chance I get.
New for you this week, is your ability to understand emotions. You have taken to the old cartoon version of Charlotte's Web, and you now identify when the characters are sad. You will get a sad face and tell me, "Piggie Sad." When Wilbur is sad in the movie.
Yesterday we went to go get frozen yogurt at the Orange Leaf yogurt place where you can build your own yogurt sundae and we sat next to father and his 2.5 year old son. I was amazed at how much he was talking and comprehending! To think that will be you in just a few short months...that you will be at that level of cognitive development by summer is astounding to me. The little boy's name was Owen and he asked if you would like to play with his dinosaur that he brought. You were shy, but took the dinosaur and make "rawr" noises with it. It was cute. The dinosaur was a very realistic looking T-Rex.
Some sad things have also happened this weekend. Ellie girl is in pain again. We are taking her to the doctor tomorrow to see what is wrong. We are hoping in our hearts that she has not injured her spine again. If she has, we don't know what we will have to do. I don't even want to think about it. You love that dog and so do we. Yesterday she was sunbathing in the warm sun in the yard and you went and laid down by her and gently pet her and said you were going "Nigh-Night" with Ellie. It was too cute.
I love you SO much bud!
