Hello Quinn,
We have been busy together making crafts for Valentines day these past two weekends for your daycare class! Without further adieu, here are the photos with instructions for any other Mama's out there who are interested in making these. I got all of my supplies from Michael's, but I am sure you can find them other places too.
Flower Crayon Valentines:
What you will need:
12 pack of foam flowers
broken pieces of crayons, papers peeled off
scotch tape
muffin papers
muffin pan
marker
Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. Peel paper from crayons and break into pieces if they are not already broken. Line muffin pan with muffing papers. Put broken crayon bits into muffin cups. Put in oven until melted. Remove from oven and Cool. (Should only take about 15 min to melt and 10 to cool.) Write message on backs of flowers. Tape crayon circles onto flowers. Voila!
Teacher Door Hanger:
What you will need:
one green foam wreath starter
one skein of rainbow yarn
one chalk board hanger
Decorations of your choice. ( I used cardboard letters, wooden apple decal, and crayons)
twine
white fabric marker
hot glue and hot glue gun
fabric glue
Take yarn and wrap all around foam wreath (this is the longest part). Write teachers name or desired message on chalkboard with fabric marker. Tip: Don't forget to sign your child's name and put the date on the back! Using Hot glue and glue gun, glue crayons to chalkboard. (I tried both ways, and this only works if you apply the glue directly to the chalkboard first and then press crayons to it.) With the end of the yarn, tie on the chalkboard hanger. Glue desired decorations onto the wreath using fabric glue. Tie Twine around the top for a hanger and you are done!
We dropped off the wreath this AM and it was so rewarding to see how happy Ms. Samantha was about her gift. She loved it! We will take in your Valentines for the kids tomorrow!
I gave you your gift a little early this year. You absolutely LOVE balloons, so when I went to the store on Saturday, I couldn't help but get you a heart shaped Mylar balloon that simply says "Happy Valentines Day!" on it. You love it and have carried that balloon around with you all weekend. Simple things make my heart beat. Happy second Valentines day Quinn! I love you with all my heart.
Forever Your Valentine,
~Mama~
