Hello My darling!
This past week has been WONDERFUL! Let me tell you just how good you have been to Mamma this week. We started a sleep training program called The Sleep Sense Solution and you have slept through the night all week long! About time too because after 5 months of getting up every 2.5-3 hours, I was one tired Mamma. It is SO funny too because we happened into sleep training because I got sick. ( I was in the bathroom all night long and maybe got 2 hours sleep).
You cried for 45 min on Monday, sometimes getting hysterical. Daddy kept going in and patting him and telling you it was OK every 10-15 min or so. You finally fell asleep and only woke up once to eat. The next night you only took 20 min to fall asleep and only fussed mildly. You still woke up 2 times...after 3 hours each time, but you were able to go back to sleep really quickly and I did not rock you til you fell asleep like usual. Thankfully it is going more smoothly since we already have a good bedtime routine. You get a bath, nurse, get rocked for no more than 15 min now...and I read you a story and sing to you while we rock. Then I tell you that "It's Nigh-Night time" and that I love you and put you in your crib and turn on your ocean wonders machine, and give you your bear (which has a small amount of my breast milk squirted on it). You have been doing GREAT and have been in bed before 7pm every night for a week! If it works out, I may actually get to work out again after you go to bed!
You also got your first taste of "real" food last night. It was hilarious! We have a video of it to treasure forever. We decided to give you sweet potatoes pureed with mommas milk. We skipped feeding you rice cereal because Momma does not want to feed you much processed foods, and the cereal tends to constipate and you have enough problems with that as is. I also worry about food allergies from the cereal. Anyway, you were making the funniest faces. I will put a photo of the event on here for you to see!
In other news...we have had great success with starting to practice Elimination Communication with you. You have peed on the potty 3 times now and pooped once! I am SO proud of you. I am hoping if we keep this up, it will make potty training so much easier since it will just become part of your routine. The jury is still out for a while on that one though.
Since you have started your sleep training, I have modified our schedule so I can spend more quality time with you. Now I leave all the night chores to be done after you are in bed so I can come home, cook dinner and then just play with you til bath time. I love it and you seem to as well. You have been in such a good mood lately...probably because you are getting sleep too!
I love you very much Quinn, and I know this next week holds many more amazing events for us to explore!
love,
Momma
Hooray for Sleep!!!!!! :)
